Why it works

It reads as something you wrote for yourself, not for the feed. No font choice, no layout, no colour: the unstyled interface is the style, and that is exactly why it lands in a feed full of styled things. A short list is also the most saved kind of post there is right now. People screenshot it back, copy it into their own notes, send it to a friend. A list you can steal travels further than any design.

What you need

• your phone's default Notes app (the plain one, not a fancy one)
• one phone photo of the season: wet pavement, a café window, a stack of library books, the first knit
• ten minutes, no editor needed

Step by step

1. Open a new note. Title in plain lowercase words: things i'm manifesting this autumn. Leave the default title size alone, big and plain is the point.
2. Let the grey date line sit there. Don't delete it, it is what makes the note look real.
3. Tap the checklist button and type five or six short lines, one wish each: a library card · a 7am walk habit · one trip alone · less phone, more film · the haircut · a proper desk. Short, specific, things a person would actually write for herself.
4. Drop one photo under the list straight from your camera roll. It lands with rounded corners like any inline note photo. One photo, not three.
5. Screenshot it. Crop to 4:5 in Instagram's own crop tool so the status bar disappears and the title sits near the top. Don't add text or stickers on top, leave it naked.
6. Caption, lowercase: manifesting, noted. what's on yours? Three tags at most: #manifesting #autumnreset #notesapp.
7. One slide. The note IS the post, a carousel would ruin the illusion.

Make it yours

• Beauty: 'autumn reset, noted' — the haircut, the skin appointment, the drawer you finally cleared.
• Business / UGC: 'q4, noted' — three clients, a rate card, a day off that's actually off.
• Fashion: 'this autumn i'm wearing' — the loafers, the grey knit, the coat you already own.

Keep the tick boxes whatever the niche. They are what turn a caption into a list people copy, and a copied list is a saved post.
